Recommended Read: Motivation for the New Year

Four in a series highlighting the books our contributing and guest writers most enjoyed reading in 2014.

e-squared-smallerThe decision to become an entrepreneur is an easy one — at first, until you look to your friends and family for support and are left with “get a real job” ringing in your ears. Fellow entrepreneurs and books can provide the comfort, guidance and even a game plan — without personal opinion — necessary for the person trying to make her own way.

Over the years I have read many books to help me stay the course. Awaken the Giant Within by Anthony Robbins (Free Press, 1992) is my all-time favorite. I bought this book 20 years ago when it was first published and it has been a personal, financial, spiritual and business book all rolled into one. Divided into sections, the reader can focus on one subject at a time.

In celebration of the 20th anniversary of Awaken the Giant Within, Robbins has released Re-Awaken the Giant Within, available for free download at his website.

The second book I recommend is E-Squared: Nine Do-It-Yourself Energy Experiments that Prove Your Thoughts Create Your Reality by Pam Grout (Hay House Insights, 2012). After hearing “your thoughts become your reality” when I was growing up, I love this book for helping me to discover how much power thoughts have.

I encourage you to read these books and make 2015 your year of transformation.
